Prison Warder Arrested in DR Congo Over Kiboga Triple Homicide

A Ugandan prison warder who had been on the run following a suspected triple homicide in Kiboga District has been apprehended in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), according to security officials.

The suspect reportedly fled the country shortly after the incident, prompting a coordinated cross-border search involving Ugandan and Congolese authorities. He was later tracked down and arrested in eastern DR Congo after weeks of investigation.

Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect is linked to the killing of three individuals in Kiboga. Authorities have not yet disclosed the motive behind the incident, stating that investigations remain ongoing.

Officials have commended the collaboration between Ugandan security agencies and their counterparts in the DRC, noting that the joint effort was instrumental in securing the arrest.

Arrangements are currently underway to facilitate the suspect's extradition to Uganda, where he is expected to face charges related to the killings. Legal proceedings will commence upon his return.

Police have urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue, adding that further details will be released in due course.

The arrest represents a significant development in the case and underscores the importance of regional cooperation in addressing cross-border crime.
